Users can add funded liens to existing cases in the software. The process will use the Bulk Add tool and requires a pre-configured template set up by the Justice Bolt Team.
The process is divided into two sections. This article will illustrate the steps and help guide you in making your import a success.
Extracting the Case ID via Reports
Depending on which cases you will add liens to, the import will require you to extract the Case ID of the cases so that the liens are properly mapped.
- Users can do this by going to the Reports tab in the software. Choose the “Cases” level of report.
-
Use the filters on the left side. There are a number of filters you can use such as by Law Firm, by State of Incident, or by Medical Facility, to name a few. You can also configure the report and remove the columns you won’t be needing to generate your report faster.
- Click the Export button to start extracting the Case ID of the cases you will be adding liens to.
- In the exported file, locate the Case ID column. For this import, the shortened Case ID is what’s needed.
- Pro-tip: You can add the name columns to the import template so that you can make sure that you’re mapping the correct lien to the correct case. Just make sure to remove the name columns before proceeding to the import.
- Copy the Case ID to the import template.
Filling In the Import Template
The template used for this import is simpler than the normal Bulk Add template since the cases already exist in the software. You can add the name columns to the import template so that you can make sure that you’re mapping the correct lien to the correct case.
Users can access the template by following these steps:
-
Download the Template:
-
Click on "New Import"
-
Choose your desired template from the dropdown menu
-
Click "Download Template" to get a CSV file. This file will have the correct columns for your chosen data type.
-
Please refer to this example sheet for an example.
Using the Import Template
- Copy the Case ID to the template.
- Add the necessary lien fields such as the Initial and End Service Dates, Purchase Date, Medical Code (and description), Purchase Amount, and Billing Amount.
- Once filled in, the file is now ready to be imported.
